• Note about XUGO meetings and participation: As we had discussed in December, it is essential that we establish a different format for our XUGO meetings if it is to be something worth participating in - and especially for those who work industriously to identify, cajol / capture, and introduce speakers. We have actually had tolerable success in this regard, but we need more contributions from the membership at large, or perhaps to integrate with a larger interest group and venue that can attract more presenters. Joe Gollner has tendered a set of questions to Treasury Board about the possibility of fusing our XUGO meetings with the Government XML interest group(s) in the hope that this will lead to gatherings with more people and by extension a better draw for speakers (especially out-of-town speakers).

  For now, however, the March gathering for XUGO needs to be cancelled and, pending a change, the same fate will likely befall April. At Stilo, we will be continuing discussions with Treasury Board as we know that there are interesting things happening in Ottawa and that they would all benefit from having better contact amongst the various protagonists. If there are any other suggestions from the regular participants, we would be most grateful to hear from you.

• Our next monthly meeting is Thursday, April 6, 2006 (The March meeting was cancelled due to lack of speaker, and this one may not happen either unless we can locate someone to present to the group.) - Please preregister to attend.

• Ottawa's XML pioneers were featured in an article in theTech Weekly Section of the Ottawa Citizen newspaper.

• We are always looking for presentations for upcoming meetings. Possible topic ideas are (but are not limited to): RSS 2.0/Atom, RelaxNG, W3C Schema, DITA, RDF and the Semantic Web, BPEL... Please contact or if you'd like to present at an upcoming meeting.
